Worrying about her future?

Did anyone watch Panorama last night?:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/panorama/hi/

It was about the rise of sexual bullying in the UK. It included details of children as young as 5 being forced to do things/having things done to them by children of their own age and a few years older, of teenage girls being forced to perform sex acts by boys their own age, of small boys being raped by older boys. I was utterly disgusted, but can see the truth in it. I often see school children grabbing one another, lifting skirts up etc. and if they're willing to do this in front of others then I can see how it goes further.

Along with knives, sex education at a young age, smoking, drinking, drugs etc it all just makes me worry about my little ones future. She is only 16 months old, so I know I am being premature but I cannot imagine happily sending her to any school when such problems are everywhere. Of course, these things don't happen to every child - but with these things on the rise, it's becoming more likely that something like this could happen to her. I'm not a natural worrier, and I'm not being irrational - I know I cannot protect her from harm forever, that I cannot stifle her and make her afraid of the world but I just worry for her future. I used to think people that homeschooled their children were a little overbearing but now I can totally understand why they'd do it. Do you worry too? How do you deal with your worries?
