i have an 03 explorer and it will shake at 65 mph and up.bad enough that i wont drive past 65 because of it. i no for sure it has a blown shock in the rear but would that cause this?personally i don't think so......its not a roter either. thanks

If the shock is broken and not dampening the movement of the spring, it could well be the cause.

All you need for a bad vibration and loss of control is the combination of a wheel slightly out of balance and a weak shock.

tire could be out of balance. loose lug nuts a bad wheel bearing or bad tie rod end

sure could and so could other things like wheel bearings, bad ball joint, bad tires, unbalanced tires, bad alignment etc...

No. What this sounds like is a problem with the transmission. If it won't drive past a certain speed it's not a suspension problem (including an unbalanced wheel).
