Would getting teeth cleaning for a dog at a pet groomer be the same thing

as getting one at the vet? The groomer charges less so i was wondering if its the same thing as the vet who charges way more.

Ask for her qualifications.
I'd only trust a trained veterinarian, unless she's been through the same credentials.

Call the vet and ask to see what they did to learn how to clean teeth, then call the groomer and ask the same thing.
