I having been living in Switzerland for years and have been so bored with the place. I would like to move to Canada. I have a degree in business studies and postgraduate studies in management. I speak English, French and German.
I have a European passport and have a Permanent Skilled Workers Visa for Canada.
I am 39 years old and have about 400,000 dollars savings so I could buy a house outright in Canada.
In Switzerland I work 12 hour days for an abusive boss and half of my salary goes on paying the mortgage for my small 2 bedroom apartment as my apartment cost 1 million to buy in expensive Switzerland. I have a 50 year mortgage. I live 40 minutes drive from work as it is so expensive for me to afford buying a place in the city. So I commute a long distance to work. I have been living on 1 year renewable contracts with no hope of ever getting a permanent contract as that is how the company I work for runs. I am tired and stressed out. It is not easy for me to change jobs in Switzerland as they prefer mother tongue French with English and not visa versa.
Do you think I will probably have a better quality of life in Canada even if I earn less money there? I will have no mortgage to pay and can afford to live closer to work.
