Hello!

I need to make a decision because my cardio wants to make my baby do a surgery regarding his PDA situation because it doesn't close but my baby heart is pretty normal she said. I don't need to focus on the heart because the problem is the vein because it doesn't close. But I don't know what to do because I searched to the internet that if it's small PDA it may close afterwards but it can be monitored up until 12 years of age. My baby doesn't turned blue when he cries and he doesnt get tired easily like most of the babies. When I told her that my baby is gaining weight, she doesn't believe me and she just said that she will monitor it on her own but she gives me a medicine for heart failure that usually for edema and urine extraction but my baby doesn't need it because he is perfectly healthy and he has no edema and he pees regularly. I regularly checks my baby to his pedia so I know that he is gaining weight. When he first born he weighs 3.5kilos but now he weighs 5.2 pounds and he is 3 months now. She said that my baby needs to do the heart surgery as soon as possible but I do want to make a decision after 6 months just to make sure.

I don't know what to do. This an important decision I need to make because it would impact my baby and I'm also planning to have a 2nd opinion about it. Can you please help me?
oh! I do forgot to mention that I do 2d echo him w/doppler and she assures me that my baby boy has a normal heart it's just that he has a pda.. his heart has no other defects. he is not showing any signs and symptoms of it except the heart murmur which she assures me that it's normal for my baby,

I'm going to seek 2nd opinion this week to made me sure of what to do.. and I'm taking the 2d echo results to them to verify.

my baby had a PDA, a PFO, a massive VSD, and several small ASDs.
she was born at 4lb 6 and had her surgery at 3.5 weeks old because of severe heart failure. If your babys PDA has not closed by 3 months and the dr wants it on meds for heart failure you need to get your babies heart fixed. If they can fix my tiny baby's massively complex heart defects at 4 lbs they will do a great job fixing your much bigger babies relatively simple PDA.

If your doctor says your baby has heart failure you need to listen and put that baby on meds.
heart conditions are serious and you need to listen to your doctor not form your own opinions about weather or not your baby needs corrective surgery and medications, they would not be concerned if it weren't concerning.
