Would it be alright if I substituted red whine with white?

I'm making Garlic shrimp and the recipe needs 1/8 cup of white wine which I don't have. Would the flavor of the dish be changed a lot?
The other ingredients are
10 shell-on U-15 (extra large) shrimp, deveined
1 head (10 cloves) garlic, peeled and roughly chopped
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (1 tablespoon for spicier tastes)
1/2 stick clarified butter (see our video recipe)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 cup white wine
2 tablespoons regular butter

White wine would taste best but if an emergency you could use a white zinfindel but definitely not a red wine.

Yes, I think it would,

Might not be bad, but I might try diluting it 50% with water.

If you don't have white wine, skip it altogether. Sub chicken stock, shrimp stock, or even water.

1/8 cup = 2 Tbsp

No.
It would be better to use your scrimp in a recipe that calls for red wine instead of using it in your garlic scrimp recipe. Try doing a search on line for scrimp with red wine recipes. You could leave the wine out and substitute the juice of a lemon. Add the lemon at the end of the cooking time. You could also add a teaspoon or two of lemon zest at the same time.

no. red wine flavor is too strong for delicate shrimp. Use chicken stock, water or skip it all together.
