Would it be ok to put more fish in my turtle tank?

I have a RES turtle and I had put some feeder fish in her tank a few months ago. At first she would hunt them and eat them. Now I have 8 little feeder fish in the tank that she refuses to eat. I recently got a Placostomous (algae eater) to help keep up the tank (between him and the two filters, they do a pretty good job). I kind of want to try and put a couple of nicer looking fish in the tank since she has stopped eating the other fish. Do you think it would hurt to try it? It is a 40 gallon reptile tank and it is 2/3 full. If I take the waterfall filter out I can fill it all the way. I know you are supposed to have one fish per gallon of water, or something like that. Any advice/ideas/opinions would be great. Also, the turtle just kind of hangs out in the corner of the tank now instead of swimming around like she used to, and only suns herself a little bit. Do you think maybe she doesn't like all the fish?

as turtles get older then wants adn need for fresh protein like feeder fish fads away. I had that same problem i killed the feeder fish my self adn when it was floating at the top the turtle came and ate it. if you want t keep the fish that would be great just be prepared for lots of cleaning because you have turtles and fish. and even if the turtle doesn't like the fish she will still keep swimming around.
