Would religion in the USA be different if it wasn’t being colonized at the same time

Catholicism lost power? If Anglicanism had one or two centuries to solidify its position as the religion of English speaking people and then the New World was colonized, would there have been so many different offshoots and so many hastily slapped together variations of Christianity made in the USA?

The USA doesn't have a national religion. We are a secular nation.

There might be parts of our culture and even some of the values in the Constitution were inspired by Christianity, but the founders of our nation did not want to infringe upon every person's right to worship, or not worship, as they saw fit. So long as it doesn't harm others.
