we are having problems with our jeep it shacks real bad a has a rattling sound at first we thought it might have been somewthing to do with the muffler system, i told it to the mufler shop and they said the there was a rod knock in the motor. i called the dealer ship where we got it and they said that it was making that sound because the spark plugs weren't in right that didn't make sence to my. could spark plugs do that

Chances are if you have a rod knock, you'll need some work on the crank, whether it needs to be ground and polished or merely straightened depends on what shape its in. A loose spark plug can cause a popping noise but you can check the spark plugs yourself. If there are any that are only finger tight or loose, tighten them. A rod knock however is quite distinctive. You may be able to see metal flakes on the oil dipstick which is a telltale sign of bearing damage. If you bought the vehicle recently, you should raise some hell at the dealership, providing you kept it properly maintained.
