if your co worker who can't stand you forbid you to go into her department she acted as if you walk into her house.

If she isn't the department head, then complain to the department head, and your boss

If she is the department head, then complain to her boss, and your boss.

But only complain if not going into that department PREVENTS YOU FROM DOING YOUR JOB.

Do not complain if not going into that department keeps you from socializing with other coworkers. They can come to you.

I cannot stress the importance of this enough! You are there to work first. You want your boss to see you as a good worker. You do not want your boss to see you as a whiner who thinks she is entitled to a particular social life within the work environment.

I would take offense at the word-"forbid", I would go to your superior and talk with them about it. I would probably avoid this co-worker if possible. Its not worth my energy or sanity to even deal with someone like that. I have worked with some really crazy people over the yrs and the one thing they all had in common was that they were all very un-happy in ther personal lives. They really were people to be pitied. They all had no control in their personal lives, so they were trying to get control at work. But, if they are upsetting you or making it difficult for you to do your job, you need to report them.

I would ignore her and go where ever I wanted or needed to. If she confronted me I would tell her I am doing my job and she needs to leave me alone and do her work too.
