Well I have 2 girl cousins who've read it. One, who's extremely intelligent and fond of reading, said it's boring and shallow, while the other, one who hates books, said it's "hot, but the show is better."

Who else has read this series? My cousin who loves it gave me the books because it takes up space in her room, or something like that, so I want to know if it's worth reading.

ya! its rele good! and haha i totally understand ur cousins, i have a friend who is rele smart and reads alot of books, and she isnt fond of teen books like that, but another young girl i kno who doesnt like to read and hates reading started reading a book called "the clique" and loves it;p gossip girl (the book) is really good! yes its kinda shallow but its just fun to read. if you like scandal and drama, etc, youll rele like it. i luv the show too;p
?

It's Boring. The author adds stuff like sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. to "shock" the reader, subtly admitting the fact that it IS basically plotless.

No substance either. The characters are just names.

All I kept thinking to myself was: YAWN.

I didn't like them for the same reasons that your first cousin gave. If you enjoy similar books, such as Confessions of a Not It Girl or the Clique books, you should read it. If not, I would stay away.

Its just a quick fun read, nothing for people who want a seriously well written and engaging book I think. They can be very shallow. The shows my guilty pleasure <33
