Wouldn't it be nice if celebrities kept their mouths shut?

There are some celebrities who are quite intelligent, but consider this past election. The dumbest of them were spitting out their opinions and influencing the minds of the more malleable people in this society. People such as Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, P. Diddy, and More Money Than G-d Winfrey were suddenly given the position as political experts during the campaign.

Isn't it scary that these people are gaining more influence in the way people vote?
