It's in the fantasy genre, a bit of a mix between Epic Fantasy, High Fantasy, and Heroic Fantasy. The villain I'm talking about now is the main bad guy throughout my planned series that I'm working on now. I know it's foolish to count my chickens before they hatch so to speak but that's my plan. Anyhow, the villain is called the High Wilder since no one knows his real name. He is half-god and half-elf but is banished from both places for dabbling in the Dark Arts and a bunch of evil stuff. Needless to say, he got super angry especially when the elves attacked his father because of some misunderstanding or something. Not like his dad was any better.
Thus, he threw himself into a quest for vengence and knows everything there is to know about magic, prophecy, and all that stuff. I won't say any more or else it will spoil the story and there are story-thieves on Y! A. So I'll cut it short and humbly request for any pointers on how to make him complling and believable but still within the lines of traditional, Tolkien-like (a little but not so much so like Christopher Paolini) if you get my meaning. The hero only meets him near the end of the story and I have it all planned out but I would really appreciate some advice.
Thanks a ton in advance!
