I am new at track this year and am getting used to racing. Ive only raced once for track, a 100 meter dash. This weekend I am in a 4x200 relay and am anchor for my team. I need to know how to get rid of the nervousness I get at the beginning of my race. I have done loads of cross country racing but the adrenaline rush/uneasiness usually goes away before I even hit the trail. Its not the same for track when as soon as Ive gotten into the race Im done. It hurts my performance compared to time trials from practice and I really want to get rid of it. Especially when Im last in a relay, I get to wach most of the race and the tension builds up. Im really worried I might drop the baton.
