Xbox Live Marketplace problem?

I bought Microsoft points from target today and i redeemed them on Xbox live.
I then proceeded to buy something then it told me i had no microsoft point.
Is there a waiting period i must wait for?
I tried putting in my code again but it said it was invalid because i already used it.
 
Lol. No you get it straight away. It ate your points or you accidentally bought something.
