When you buy games/content on the Xbox Live marketplace with Microsoft points do the games/content bind to your account or your Xbox? For example if I was to buy Limbo with my account SmokexFFx would I be able to play Limbo on another Xbox 360 that I have recovered my SmokexFFx account onto or would I only be able to play it on the 360 I bought it on?

My delema is that I will be selling my old 360 soon and buying one of the new 360 S's and I want to know if I can use my Microsoft points to buy a couple games on my current Xbox and then when I get my new Xbox S recover my SmokexFFx account onto it and re-download Limbo and be able to play without having to buy it again.

I believe the product is bound to your account. While I can only speak from experience in terms of game downloads, it is possible to re-download games onto a different console using the same account. The following is an excerpt from the Xbox 360 Marketplace FAQ;

"How do I download items I previously purchased from the web?

Go to your Purchase History and select the Add to Queue button next to the item* you want to download again. You can also locate items* you own in Xbox LIVE Marketplace and click the Download to Xbox 360 button to add the item to your Download Queue."

It registers to both the console and the account. In the example that you give, you would be able to use most downloads on your account as long as you keep it online at all times. However, Microsoft has a tool made for this exact reason, the once a year License Transfer tool. That will register the downloads to your new system, allowing all profiles to use the downloads and your own to use it while offline if that is needed. You can find the tool here: http://www.xbox.com/en-us/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/default.htm
