xvid, how do i use it?

ive been trying to watch xvid file movies online, iv downloaded xvid
but its still not happening.
am i using it or do i need to enable it in sum way?
 
Looks like you are still missing required codec.

There is a tiny useful program called GSpot which examines video file and tells you exactly what video/audio codecs do you need to play this file on your PC and wether or not you have required codec installed. You then do a web search for this codec and install it.

As long as codec installed, you usually do not have to configure it.
