TL;DR at the bottom of my post, for the lazy ones who may be reading.
Apple sued Samsung for copyright and patent infringements on their newly released Galaxy Tab 10.1, getting it banned from sale in Austrailia and most of Europe - and is now seeking to do the same with the Motorola Xoom
What are your opinions on this?
I can personally see where they are coming from on the Galaxy 10.1 - given the fact that it uses the same style 30 pin connector as apple products are so famous for, and even elects to forgo a micro SD and HDMI slot, in favour of a sleeker look (which is not something samsung usually would do). Additionally, here in Korea they were promoting and selling the 10.1 with a magnetic cover that looked almost identical to the Ipad 2's smart cover.
While I do not agree with the suit, I can see why they might see it how they do.
But the motorola? To me, this just says that Apple is attempting to hold back the competition because they cannot compete. The only thing that the motorola has in common with the ipad is the fact that they are both between 9 and 11 inch square computers with a touch screen. In my honest opinion, as the Xoom was released before the ipad 2 with many things the ipad 2 was lacking and later came out with (a camera, for example), motorola is in a much stronger position to sue apple here than the other way around (not implying that they should). Motorola is also an absolute patent powerhouse compared to apple... I do not think that Steve Jobs will win this one, or that he should.

R - Apple sued samsung for the 10.1 and won, and now wants to sue motorola over the Xoom.
I can agree with the verdict on the galaxy, to an extent, but the motorola and the ipad 2 are leagues apart design wise, and I cannot see where they are coming from.
All opinions welcome, just keep it civil!
