Zimmerman Martin Case

SIB, all craziness aside, I hope this attention fizzes out. It took the OJ thing awhile. The media loves to spot light this stuff

Be it as it may, no matter who "should have did this", or "should have not did this", or "what happened before", the factor remains:

Once there is physical engagement, the issue changes.

The court-both sides, the jury, were there to sought it out

Anyone else, who were not part of this, cannot make assumptions and call these facts

Nor, could/should the characters of either persons in this physical engagement be of utmost concern

The verdict stands, all that has been said will not change the past

I think the real tragedy here is two grown men acted like dىcks and neither knew how to de-escalate, now one of them is dead the other villified by sections of the community, some excuse for Trayvon Martin - he was young, Zimmerman is old enough to know better. No winners here.

This is the thing isn't it. I have my doubts if anyone is simply drawing their guns and firing on someone who is demanding there possessions. I imagine they would draw the gun and warn them if they weren't being actively attacked. If it goes from there, then they fire. In that case you're not firing because of your goods but in fear of your health/life. Which makes it an entirely different moral situation. IMHO.

No, no truth will ever come out, unless by the 1 and a million chance that Zimmerman is being TOTALLY honest and what we know of what Martin did was SPOT ON... otherwise it's impossible. It's true, the kid died and it would have been better for that not to have happened of course. There will be clear cut cases and then fog cases such as this one.

Yeah. Zimmerman should have announced that he was neighborhood watch loudly and repeatedly during the process of following Martin. Martin should have demanded why Zimmerman was following him before ground-and-pounding him.

Poor decisions were made on both sides and this escalated very quickly, and very unnecessarily, as a result.

I completely agree, but what if the kid just brushed him off or became belligerent? Neighborhood watchmen are not respected by people the same way they are by cops (even then many people don't care if you're a cop until you have a gun pointed at you). I have had a cop point a gun at me one time. Interesting experience lol.

I'm sure that happens all the time...my guess would be that the kid would still be alive, the cops would have been involved, no arrests would have been made, no racial tensions, and we would never have known what a "white hispanic" was.

If Martin had known that Zimmerman was neighborhood watch and still ground-and-pounded him, then candidly, it's entirely his own fault he got shot.

If he hadn't realized that Zimmerman was neighborhood watch and thought he was a pervert, or a KKK member, or someone like that tailing him, then the shooting was a tragic accident where both people presumed the other guy was the aggressor and neither gave the other a chance to explain.

I don't know which of the two this case was. But Zimmerman loudly and repeatedly announcing he was neighborhood watch would eliminate the second possibility. It wasn't a crime for Zimmerman to not properly announce himself and his purpose--the acquittal was proper--but it sure as hell was poor judgment.

Basically, you dont get out of a car to follow a suspicious person.

And you dont confront and attack/fight someone who is following you. Especially on the phone telling someone you are being followed by a "Creepy_Cracker"

I haven't read the statistic yet. I'll read it when I get the time, but I won't be commenting on that here as you will see bellow. So it's not a matter of misunderstanding the statistics, but a matter of not having read them yet. What you are commenting on was just speculation on my part about your earlier comment.

You do understand here in Europe we still get a lot of American news? Also I follow The Young Turks almost religiously, so I do have some concept of US politics.
Obama may be a Democrat, and he may have beaten 2 Republicans (some of the weakest GOP's in history John and Mitt), but the Republicans still hold filibuster and vito rights, and have decided it their sole missions to take down anything the Democrats put forward.
Furthermore the Democrats have been very weak in both presidencies, and often don't stand their ground (hehe) when Republican's fight their bills.

That being said I'm going to duck out of this discussion because I'm not going to change any minds because "I'm a foreigner and can't understand America". Honestly, I expect better, this is pathetically close minded for what's supposed to be a discussion forum. Also Europeans do have something to offer since we have a totally different culture here, you can learn a lot from us, as we can learn from USA.
I'm also ducking out because I'm on vacation in the Caribbean, "ain't nobody got time fo dat"!!

Well then I was explaining why the speculation was inaccurate. Jeez, why speculate at all about what a study MIGHT say if you're going to be offended when somebody corrects you and says what the study DOES say?

You understand that in the shadow of Obama pushing Obamacare through despite Republicans kicking and screaming and crying bloody murder--one of the most significant new laws of the past couple decades--that characterization really doesn't hold much weight?

I did NOT say that or anything like that. Read my posts again. I said you were misinformed, not that you were unable to be informed.

I came off as offended? I'm sorry if I did. I was just clarifying my position, since it does make me come off as thick if I misunderstood the statistics xD

Not you, but others have been very blunt about it, I won't name call. I just wanted to respond to one post instead of respond to everyone one individually, consider it a generally purpose reply.
I apologize for not clarifying that, I've had a long day day of mountain climbing and weight lifting so I'm hardly in the most attentive mindsets!

That is so they can cause unrest and get paid for speaking out

They don't care for the black community as much as getting attention

A lot of people are misinformed. They are allowing a biased-emotional mindset which keeps them from being informed. Which is why there is this discussion all across the US

Yes, and I don't even blame Zimmerman or Martin for this... the media is at fault for pushing the racial agenda... why? Simple, it gives them more of a story.

Let me ask most of you this? Why is Zimmerman considered a "cracker" when he is half Hispanic, yet Obama is considered "black" when he isn't even all black? and some people believe he isn't black at all

Why? Because of convenience. Have someone on TV say Obama isn't black and they will be called racist so fast it will make your head spin.
