I have some "super8' films(about60minutes).it is family films and shows my childhood. as I have not apparatus to see them I like to write them on a DVD while its quality dose not decrease . Please tell me is it possible ? and what must I do?

I have tried and tried to play a dvd film/s on my Windows Vista home edition computer. I am not a newbie to computers but i just can not seem to play a dvd. When i load it on i can hear it whizzing around and then it just stops and that's it! Any help on this one if you can...many thanks
