No check engine lights on and all gauges are fine so it is not overheating. What can the smell be of burning oil? Is it possible some oil splashed in my engine compartment. I do not see any signs of oil leaks. Did something get on my manifold or exhaust system?

I tried opening the trunk today and it would only open about halfway. My father and I had to keep pushing down on the top and lifting up slowly but it still won't stay down. It's about a good inch or two apart and after we closed it, it only opened about a 1/4th aways up. Any ideas how to fix this?
