studios

With the DVD resolution at 720x480p, how does a movie studio take that 480p source and turn it into 1080p without losing quality? If I think about it, taking a smaller image and making it bigger would lose quality, but then again, not sure how the movie studios make Blu-ray releases of DVDs.

I will be in LA in June from the 4th to the 7th, and planning out what to do. I really want to do a studios tour, however I have already done Universal Studios and the Warner Bros studio tour. I really loved the WB one, and would love to do it again - but I am considering the Paramount Studios...
