1993 Buick Regal Wont Start?

I have a 1993 Buick Regal. It drove fine but a couple of days ago my c.d. player stopped working. Then this morning I started it up and realized I left something in the house and had to go back in. I turned the car off. When I came back out and tried to start it it wouldn't start back up. It turns over and sounds like it wants to but then doesn't. It starts for a second if I pump the gas but once I stop it cuts off. Any ideas?
Everyonce in a while while I'm driving it acts like it wants to die but I accelerate and it keeps going... and YES I have gas.. this is funny bc I actually did run out of gas last week and I got alot of jokes about that today at work.
 
Take a look at your carb and rebuild it if you have to. Also could be the alternator[but highly unlikly] Also make sure you check your fuel lines they may be bad.

Okay, I know we have different cars [I have a Honda Civic] but, same thing happened to me.
It was worse for me though.
I was driving on the Thruway and my car stopped accelerating. No weird noises no weird anything, it just stopped.
My mechanic called me back yesterday and it turns out it was the distributor. Not the engine like I thought, not the belt or anything that I thought. The distributor might your problem too.
I am paying $391 for everything. I'm in Jersey.
