1993 Nissan pathfinder alarm and horn issues?

When I recently bought my pathfinder, the alarm worked fine. It has gone out on me twice. just stoped working. I also found my horn does not work. it seems the previous owner unpluged a couple wires for the horn and sniped the horn wires @ the horn. when I reattached everything, they still didn't work. Can the horns really be bad? And can the horn issue be related to the alarm? How do I fix the alarm too?
