1998 e36 bmw making strange creaking/grinding noise coming from rear wheel.?

I have a 1998 bmw e36 323I that is making this really bad creaking/grinding noise which seems to be coming from the rear driver side wheel. I can hear the creaking noise once I begin to accelerate from a dead stop but once I pass about 20mph the noise goes away but as soon as I take my foot off the gas I can hear the creaking start up again. The creaking turns into a grinding noise as the car decelerates to a dead stop. Also when turning left no matter how fast I'm going I can then REALLY hear the grinding. I hope u guys can help me out thank you.
