I have heard of the "2 hour rule" to refrigerate cooked food. But how close to the 2 hours is still safe?
I brought home a doggy bag from a restaurant today, cooked chicken, shrimp and vegetables. It sat out on their table and then in my car.... and it was about 1 hour and a half to 1 hour and 45 minutes until it got inside my refrigerator. I do plan to reheat before eating tomorrow.
Is food REALLY safe to eat if it is almost at the 2 hours until it is refrigerated?
