2 ohm vs. 4 ohm car audio question?

what if i wire my amp to 2 ohms and run it to 4 ohm sub?
idk if im saying that correctly, but hopefully you get what im saying.

(wire my sub at 2 ohms, when it says 4 ohm sub)

the ohm load will be determined by the sub, if it is a dual voice coil 4 ohm sub it can be wired to produce a 2 ohm load, there is no way to wire the amp for 2 ohm if it has a 4 ohm load, if the sub is a single voice coil sub, 1 set of inputs, you will not be able to have a 4 ohm load

The amp ohm load depends on your subwoofer voice coil configuration. I dont understand the question. You cant make a subwoofer from 4 ohms to 2 ohms unless you recone them. If you subwoofer is 4 ohms DVC, then you can wire it to 2 ohms for your amplifier.

the ohm is a measurement of resistance. you can't wire your amp to 2 ohms. you can wire subs to your amp at a 2 ohm load. to do this you have to wire 2-4ohm subs together with both positives and negatives going to the same positive and negative terminals on the amp. to get an 8 ohm load you wire the positive from the amp to the positive on one sub. the negative of the same sub to the positive of the other sub and the negative of that sub to the negative of the amp. but to run 2 ohms you better have a mono amp or a two channel that's 2 ohm stable in bridge mode
