20 yrs old going on Western Caribbean cruise December 11th?

I am 20 and will be going on a cruise with my mother and her friend Dec 11-16th to the West Caribbeans out of New Orleans. Do you think there will be a lot of people my age? I go to school full time and my last week of school ends on the 10th so I was hoping that would be the time for most schools too! Also if you have ever been to Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico or Cozumel, Mexico during December what is the weather like?
