2002 Nissan Maxima making alot of noise when accelerating?

I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima with 80,000 miles. When I am accelerating the engine makes a lot of noise, as if it were a loud motorcycle. In addition, the engine feels as if it is really heavy when driving.

The Check Engine Light does not come on. Replaced Sparkplugs at 78,000 miles, and also replaced Air Filter.

Please help.

could be an exhaust leak. that would explain the motorcycle noise.
as for the engine feeling heavy it could be a multitude of things. usually sensors
