2003 Nissan Sentra Gxe questions.?

I am turning 16 this year, and I am going to be getting a 2003 Nissan Sentra Gxe. It's an ok sedan, but I want to know what i could do to make it faster. I am not a car person, and i dont want to spend tons of money at a auto shop. Im going to be putting on chrome rims and custom tail/head lights. I just want to know what i should do to make it faster.

and also, is this a pretty decent car?
