2008 cadillac CTS traction in the winter time?

Hi, this is a question for anyone who owns a CTS and lives in canada where we get some pretty bad winter weather. I currently own a 2006 chevy malibu LS and hate it on the highway during the winter and have been wanting to trade it in for a CTS. But I hear that's its rear wheel drive and that it sucks during the winter. Is this true? thanks
 
Have you ever driven a RWD car in snow? Its doable but takes a lot more skill in my opinion, The CTS is available in AWD so I would get an AWD one.
