Edit: @Jesse, not true. 3DS plays more like a console compared to the DS Lite. And 3DS can play more games since 3DS can play all other DS model games and the other DS models can't play 3DS games.

1. It doesn't matter. They're all played the same on each DS (except DSi and 3DS gets video chat since they have cameras. I won't bother saying DSiXL since it's the same thing as DSi except bigger)

2. Yes because the 3DS and the other DS systems are compatible with each other I believe.

3. It really doesn't matter. It's not worth buying another DS just for graphics.

play pokemon on? and 2) i currently own a 3ds, if i buy a second ds [whether it be a ds/ds xl/etc.], would i be able to trade pokemon to and from each system back and forth?

and lastly 3) i already own pokemon white and was dissapointed when the graphics were not top notch and blurry. i knew prior to buying a 3ds that it would be compatible with older ds games but did not know about the graphics being scaled. ive also tried the small screen cheat on the 3ds to make the screen for pokemon white smaller thus making it a bit crisper, but its still not that much different. so this leads me to ask: which ds handheld then should i buy to play pokemon white/other pokemon games, so that all the colors/graphics will show up to their best?

Thanks in advance

1. Well I have two DS systems (DS lite and DSi). I prefer to play my Nintendo games such as Pokemon on the DSi because the screen size is bigger. (yes haha i like it big :P).
2. Yes you can trade Pokemon back and forth but remember you can't trade from Black/White back to the previous Pokemon games (SS, HG, Platinum, Diamond, Pearl), but you can send Pokemon to B/W from those games.
3. And finally, I think you should get the DSi or if you prefer a larger screen size, go for the XL. Although I'm not sure if the graphics would be a major difference if you choose a bigger screen size console. But think of it this way: would you rather watch TV on a 20inch or a 32inch? Bigger is usually better! :D
