74 vw beetle heating system question?

Where can I find a good diagrams and info on the complete heating system on my 74 beetle?
I just bought a beetle and just about every piece of the heating system is in pieces. I've got broken cables leading to nowhere, ducts with no hoses connected to them...
I'm just looking for good information so I can piece the system back together.

Haynes manual is the best source.

It contains a complete teardown and rebuild of the entire car.
