95 gmc sierra running rough?

my wife was on the way home when out of the blue it started running rough when under 30 mph. Stalled a couple of times but she made it home. We live in Wisconsin and its been getting cold lately. She has not put any *heat* in the tank. Some of my friends are thinking the plugs and/or wires are the problem, others think its starving for gas. Can't really afford to take it to the shop right now but it runs so rough its not drivable. She said the oil pressure gauge fluctuated and the service engine soon light came on but doesn't know if the light went out or pressure stabilized. When I went out the other day after this happened the light was out and oil pressure was stable.

could be any number of issues like moisture in the fuel or a clogged fuel filer or a fuel pump going out. need to run some tests to be sure, otherwise are just throwing parts at the problem. Could have a mechanic run a diagnostic check then decide what to do, if something you can do yourself. Is eng. temp. coming up to normal? if not could be coolant thermostat. when was last time you ran fuel system clean through a tank of gas? could just be dirty fuel injectors if never done.
