95 vw jetta vr6 conversion from manual to automatic transmission. Cost?

the jetta is my first car and although i do enjoy driving the stick, i would rather hav an auto trans for city driving. The current trans is going to be replaced or rebuilt already along with the clutch but before i do that i wanted to kno some estimates of how much this manual to automatic conversion would cost.
