96 honda 300 fourtrax starter problems?

my quad has not been started for 6 months i tried to start it yesterday and it just turned over and over sometimes fireing a little and some backfire now when it was parked it ran fine i tried starting it until the battary was dead push start button nothing SO i put the battery on the charger till it chared fully takeing off the pstive terminal i got some spark then i tried starting it and now it acts lik the battery is dead did i burn my starter or starting solienoid or blow a fuse im lost please help ERIC
 
sounds to me like you need to turn on the ignition. dont turn it over and NO GAS!!! stay on the quad and roll it down a large hill. leave it in around 3rd gear and occasionally pop the clutch to turn over the engine. if it starts its the starter gone bad. if nothing happens you have bigger problems and i would take it somewhere.
