Hi. I have a set of 6.5'' infinity reference speakers each at 60 rms, and a set of 4" infinity reference speakers each at 35 rms. Both sets are 2ohm. I ordered this>> (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAC6404/Kenwood-KAC-6404.html?tp=115&tab=features_and_specs) kenwood amp to power them. It runs 60 rms to every speaker at 2ohm, which is perfect. Right? Also, I have two 10", 4ohm, infinity Kappa perfect subs each at 400 rms. I am thinking about ordering this kenwood amp>> ( http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAC9105/Kenwood-KAC-9105D.html?tp=115&tab=features_and_specs) and run them in parallel. I'm thinking that would give them each 450 watts power, which is more than enough. I do realize that I would have to be careful not to blow any of my speakers, but I will probably never have them turned up loud enough to blow them anyway. My questions are,, did I choose amps that will compliment and bring out the full potential of my speakers? and also, will my alternator be able to run both of these amps at the same? I do not know anything about my alternator. But its new, I had to replace it less than a year ago. I have a 98 Toyota 4runner... if that helps any...
I'm kinda new when it comes to this car audio stuff, so let me know if any of my reasoning is wrong. I plan to wire everything myself, so if anyone has any tips of any kind that would be great.
Sorry for the long ass question.. but thanks in advance for any advice!!

(also, I'm ordering from amazon, not crutchfield, for crutchfield is significantly more expensive. I just posted the urls from there because crutchfield had all the information about the amps in an organized manner)

I have been through two complete stereo replacement/installs and I'll try to remember what I chose.

If you are pushing 60 watts RMS to the 4 speakers, and two can only handle 35, that might be too much. My amp was a JL pushing 50 to each. The rears were 50 RMS JL's because they were less important and the front were 100 RMS. Better speakers in front matters more for sound quality for the driver. If you are within a little bit, you might be okay as long as gain is set relatively low and you avoid full volume (but who wants to do that?!) You don't install an expensive stereo to listen to it quietly.

Two 10" subs with 400 watts each is plenty of bass. I like a balanced sound so I went with a single 12" W3 at 250 RMS to compliment my speakers. A 1 cubic foot box made it hit clean. Should be more than enough.

It sounds like the stuff is decent. I used all JL, Polk, and Eclipse stuff and it worked flawlessly for 4 years without a single issue at full volume for long periods of time. I went through two Kenwood heads because the CD players stopped working. I'll stay away from Kenwood on my next setup but the rest was perfect.

You are getting around the limit of where your alternator might hate you. I never had a problem in my civic and Subaru STI, but it you're going even bigger. Might want to check the ratings on the alternator and do a little math.

Pushing that much bass, get a capacitor of probably larger than 1 farad. Supposedly it reduces strain on the electrical system. I had one and my lights never dimmed a bit.

It sounds like you have a decent idea of how to research what is compatible so you probably know better than me.

I have bought from a variety of stores, from the discount online store to the local shop. Crutchfield is by far the best place to buy from hands down. They knew which speakers matched my current stuff. They also knew which speakers would internally clear my door panel and my window when it rolled down to the millimeter. I would have run into spacing issues trying to do it myself. When they recommended something I didn't wind up using, they return shipped it free of charge. Worth a few bucks more any day to me.

general rule of thumb is your amps rms should be higher than the rms of the sub not the same or less because your amp will over work to power the sub and that will cause clipping and destroy ur subs easy.

ok so
2 6.5''
2 4"
2 10" infinity subs
kenwood amp 60 rms to every speaker
1800 watts amp

Your going to kill battery and alternator they wont be able to handle all that.
Every time you system starts to thump i will just shut down do to lack of energy
you might want to look into a performance battery , high output alternator and a system compositor. sounds like you have a pretty sweet system though

haha when you get it all going listen to lil wynes millie it will blow you away!!!!
