...to know before I get it? it's an older model, but what does that really mean? It has 2 GB, 160 Hard drive space. Not sure what the other specs are. I looked on the apple site itself and I didn't even see the option for 160 on the hard drive space at all. The main use of the laptop will be for typing up papers, research on the internet, i tunes, skype, storing photos. Will I be able to have multiple windows open without any of that slowing me down?
 
You'll need specific software to run windows programs, and if you're used to a pc the mac versions might be different.
You can flip windows only programs to run on mac but sometimes the graphics will be a bit misplaced.
You can definitely open different windows etc without much effect on performance. In fact you'll probably find it runs more smoothly and reliably.
Beware if uploading a lot of photos that you may eventually need an external hard drive, as they do slow down if the disk is too full (as do pc's!).
