1. Why do we need constant blood flow to all of our organs and body parts? I'm assuming it has to do with the oxygen being used up, and constantly needing to be replenished (Similar to a cleaning pump in a pool?)

2. Why exactly do we need oxygen in the bloodstream when it passes from the lungs? What is this oxygen used for, and where does it go?

Here are very basic and simplified answers....

1. All our cells need oxygen to function.

2. The blood cells get oxygen from your lungs and travel around your body to supply your body cells with oxygen, your body cells then give off carbon dioxide which your blood cells carry back to your lungs which is why you exhale carbon dioxide

Oxygen is required by all cells for respiration. Respiration is the breakdown of glucose in cells releasing energy for work. Without oxygen respiration is impossible. Without respiration there will be no energy for muscle contractions, nerve impulses, protein synthesis in cells, cell division and growth or any other cell activity. Oxygen is supplied to all cells by the blood. Blood has to be kept moving to supply cells with blood and to remove the waste carbon dioxide. Blood also supplies the glucose for respiration and the other nutrients for growth, maintenance and repair.
