A question about introducing young people to the great sport of shooting.?

Recently a member of this group, who I will not identify, had questions about where to take a 13 year old child shooting. This question was asked by an admittedly homosexual male and the proposed student was also of the male gender. Considering that the proposed teacher was homosexual I don't think it's much of a stretch to call this an "opposite sex" relationship since the proposed student belongs to the sex that's considered "attractive" by the teacher.

Let us say, for the sake of argument, that I were going to teach a 13 year old girl the finer points of marksmanship. Would it be even remotely proper for me to drive said young lady two hours out into the wilderness, unchaperoned? Would it be considered negligent for the parents of said child to allow, let alone encourage such an activity if they even suspected said teacher could be sexually attractive to said student?

Would it possibly be considered a terminally stupid decision for me to engage in such an activity knowing that a few words from the child, truthful or not, could ruin my career and reputation for life?

I'm asking this question here because this is where I'll find the highest concentration of people familiar with the shooting sports.
Ryan... there is no way I could be considered a "fag" and I'm asking this question in reference to myself and a 13 year old girl.
Out of consideration for the unnamed person in this question I have used one of his favorite devices to save him the necessity of replying. I've blocked him. :o)
Ink. I think you're right but I didn't want anyone to think for a second I was referring to anyone in particular... but thank you for your clarification.

Hell yes. You are right to follow that instinct. Even if there were more than one student learning to shoot, I would not think it a wise descision to allow such a liason. If I were going to drive said student, why the heck wouldnt I just stay? ( of course I shoot so I would just join in ) Seems kind of funky to me to go FAR away and alone too? No, there are gun ranges in the area that would be watchful over everyone in the range, and even at that there is a chance that something could go wrong. Wilderness is just a given NO under these circumstances, and an out door range located far away is probably not the best idea with out another adult chaperone. If you have even a sliver of doubt upon this do not let this come to pass. We are talking about a shooter, and a child-non shooter, and your career. You can add in the X factor(s) in with that.
No, no, no. Very bad choice.

its not worth the risk unless you are long time friends with the child's parents and you have known the child for a long time. I think in newells case he has sick intentions, his last 15 questions have been about this 13 year old boy and the way he talks about him and other matters on YA he sounds like a sexual predator. I would never take a child anywhere unless I have known them for years. you are right , just one remark to their parents can get a whole investigation started and destroy your life. I almost guarantee newell drives a rickety old van with the windows boarded shut in the back.

heywood...I think Ryan was referring to newell, not you

Personally I hope that the boy in questions guardian goes along as well. That way if anything funny happens, they are already in the desert for disposal purposes. But yes I do believe the there is some bovine excrement being deployed in said teacher's story.
