you have heard this question if you've studied waves: A sinusoidal wave is traveling along a rope. The oscillator that generates the wave completes x vibrations in t seconds. etcetera...

What I want to know is... has anyone actually duplicated this experiment with a "Rope?"
I work as a lab tech and have been having big problems trying to get a working model that uses a rope and not a string. any suggestions??? Please do NOT suggest that I use a string!
