100 miles / 45 miles/hour = 2.2222222222222 hours

2.222222222 hours * 60 minutes/hour = 133.333333333 minutes
 
first, you want to find out how many miles the train has traveled per minute. so, since there are 60 minutes in an hour, divide 45/60 to get
.75 miles per minute.
Then, since there are 100 miles and you want to find out the number of miles per minutes that will go in to finish the trip, you divide 100/.75 to get
133.33333 minutes repeating, your answer
 
Distance = Rate * Time

Distance = 100mi.
Rate = 45mi./hr.

2hrs, 13mins and 3sec.
