What was the Channel Dash in WW2?

No googling allowed! lol
For some unknown reason, I don't see a option button "For Best Answer" under any of the responses.
Ahhh, there is the button.

The Channel Dash was the English called the movement of the "KMS Prinz Eugene", "Scharnhorst" and "Gneisenau" from Brest to Germany in Early February of 1942. The Operation was so well planed that the British never learned about the operation until it was to later to stop so the Germans were attacked in a series of disjointed attacks in an attempt to stop the ships. The British managed to get a Torpedo into the "Gneisenau" and so damage it as to make it impossible for the Ship every to ba operational again and it was made into a Harbor De fence Unit at Gdansk or as it was known then Danzig. The attack showed a marked inability for the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force too coordinate attacks.
