Nope - because you're not appealing for a supernatural entity to intervene on my behalf.

If you said $deity (the $ is not a reference to cash, but a reference to a replaceable variable - insert name of chosen deity here) grant you a good day then things might be different.

Annoyingly there isn't really a non-religious equivalent that I can think of right now to give a proper analogy.
 
I can't either. What about if I asked Santa to bring to something really nice at Christmas? Would that be close?
 
I liked all of them, it was a very original idea I think and gave more reasoning to the very far fetched "action" films that we see today.

You can create NDE's in some people by putting them in those g-force machines they have in the airforce for training pilots and spinning them until they pass out.
NDE's are not good evidence for any sort of god.
 
Because there been countless atrocities committed in His name throughout the Bible and and history and continue today. Earlier in this very thread several atrocities were listed and your basic response was that they were okay because God did it. It just amazes that someone can think something like mass murder is ever acceptable.

Well that's up to the person. One who doesn't want to believe that maybe there MIGHT be something past death is going to try to rationalize that it's not real no matter how much proof there might be. The truth is, if you need proof to believe, then you are not using faith, which is what God wants. I've just posted this because I thought some would find it interesting, but I did expect responses such as yours and expect there to be many more. If you don't want to believe, hey that's fine. It's everyone's right to believe how they want. It doesn't mean it's true or untrue.

If I were to say, well if I have complete and total proof that there isn't a God, then what is the point of living and being a good person? There really is none. For what? To be remembered fondly? What does that do for you while your rotting corpse is in the ground? You don't know people think of you fondly, obviously you can't care. Some do things for legacy... but here again, what good is a legacy if you don't know anything about it?

SIB, to be honest, for me the issue is not that you may haved prayed for me but the fact that you had to announce it.

You see, once you did that it went from possibly being a good deed to an act of ego gratification for you. You weren't praying because it was the right thing to do, you were praying and announcing it to show what a great christian you are, how you are a better person than us unsaved are and everyone should notice and tell you how grateful they are for you benevolence.

To be honest you sounded just like god in the bible.
 
To me, that speaks more of your wishes and fear of the permanence of death than any evidence of an afterlife.
 
The point of living is to live, to enjoy life, to learn and be happy. Why be a good person, how about something as simple as it is the right thing to do.

You see, I don't need a sky daddy watching over me to do the right thing, I don't need the threat of hell or the reward of heaven to be a good person.

Life is good and whatever happens after I die happens. I am rather confident that when I die all I do is die and that is the end.

The fact that you would even post something like this says a lot about your character and it's not good.
