Got a C5 Hdi 2ltr , 4speed auto [or 6 if you count converter locks]. Played up ever since I've owned it. Had many fault code removals for different warnings, nothing solved, remove code and drive away. Only once did the dealer find a low vacuum reading, replaced hose and all well. Mainly these warnings are the dreaded anti pollution fault, gear selection, low fuel [with full tank] throttle position sensor. Every time I get the fault code removed the car drives really well, hardly any throttle lag, engine performs well, fuel use comes down to 7.5- 7.3 around town, suspension seems to ride better, [could be imagination], and all in all its a joy. Some times it'll last a day or two, sometimes only a few hours. Get in, turn on ign and dash fuel readout is back to where it always sits 8.5. Doesn't matter about driving conditions it has always sat on that figure. So we're back to the rattling sluggish, bad flat spot, fuel guzzling monster. The Trans was replaced about 58.000ks, and 900ks later I'm stuck in limp mode, in peak hour traffic with the dreaded gear selection warning. And so it goes on still.
Last episode was after I parked in the yard, went out a couple of minutes later to go out again and the thing wouldn't fire. Dash readout was spinning out every code it had.
It started ok next day[ sounds like a lawnmower I once had] rang garage, he plugged in, removed fault codes, ran for about ten minutes, fault code came up ESP-SRS disconnected. Re check, all ok. So I attempted to drive home, got across the road only. Engine was jerking [fuel] fault warning ESP-SRS. Garage closed [Saturday noon] Climbing hill to home I kl away, trans making terrible noise and loosing drive, smoke belching from pipe. So there it sits off the road again. The air blower control sink has a faulty Mosfet so, until that's fixed, no blower. The terminals on the fuse box carrying the wiring for the blower, have been subject to a lot of heat and corrosion, and have melted the plastic surrounding them, as also the fuse box to fuel pump connector for some reason. So Any answers, anybody.? Or offers to Buy?.
