According to prophecy, why will Israel grieve over someone who was "pierced"?

Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.
12:11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon."

It is talking about the death of our Lord on the cross, his side was pierced, and how for three days he was in the grave before he rose from the dead.

Matthew 27 45 - 56 describes the scenes at the time of the crucification.

10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto Me because they have thrust him through; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born.

In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

Yours is a mistranslation - thrust, not pierced.

Its referring to how it feels when a prophet from G-d is denied. It's not about the Jewish Messiah. There's only one passage in Zechariah about the Jewish Messiah: * The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)

????
The word CERTAINLY means stab in its most primitive root...peirce is far closer than thrust...you certainly have NOT mistranslated it.....
