for what i have got, the acura rsx type s does 0-60 in about 6.7- 7.1 seconds? what other cheap mods can you do to make it faster? any good chips? i would start with the spark plugs, knn air, ETC. but is there turbos or any other things that can make this car get into the 5 or less seconds with just bolt ons? and also, what would the mpg be if i did all/any of this? thank you!

First off, 0-60 times are useless. They don't measure the actual performance of the car and is virtually impossible to really measure. Second, getting below 6 seconds with a front wheel drive is in the realm of race tires because front wheel drives are awful for performance. Increase the power enough to hit your 0-60 goal, and you will do nothing but spin the tires and your 0-60 time will probably be slower. If you want a fun car to drive, don't go turbo. Get a set of cams, a good intake (Injen and AEM both make really good ones), a good 4-2-1 header (more torque than a 4-1, sacrifices peak power, but makes for a better street car), a good exhaust, Hondata ECU reflash, and if you really want extra power for the drag strip, add a small hit of nitrous, say 50hp. That would be more than enough for a fun car, power wise, then upgrade the brakes and suspension and tires. No 18" wheels, stick with 17s or less.

what are you planning on doing? normal aspiration or forced induction?
if you're doing normal aspiration, get a injen CAI.. its dyno proven to give a 13 WHP gain on a RSX-S http://www.clubrsx.com/popup.htm?../producttests/intaketest1/INJENvsSTOCK.jpg. after that it depends on how much work you want to do. increasing the compression ratio and reflashing your ECU will give the best results. or you could just go with bolt ons which are easier to do but the RSX already does a good job of not wasting any HP hardware wise (a TB and IM bolt on wont do much for increasing HP and H/E only frees up wasted HP)
if your hp goals are over 220 though the best bang for your buck would be to turbo charge it.

Hopefully you're not talking about those chips off ebay that claim to add 30HP...
Never buy into those gimmiks! That's all those are. They cause the car to run rich and can fuck it up.

There aren't any cheap ways to get a car to "go faster" You'd have to build up the engine and suspension and all that stuff. What you really should do if go to Cardomain.com and look up your car and see how others have improved their rides. Or search of google for a RSX fourm. They're on TeamIntegra.net but its 90% integras..
