Advice on how to stop gossiping?

My religious beliefs prohibit gossip and after examining my life, I've realized I am a consistent breaker of that rule. Please give me some advice on how to stop gossiping.

Please don't answer in ways I already know; I need advice that works please

think before you speak. just pause before you open your yap, think about what you are about to say, and then decide if it's worth saying. i advocate this for everyone, not just gossipers.

also, stop hanging around people who gossip all the time.

It's helped me to realize the truth in Jesus's words, "judge not lest you be judged, for with the judgement you pronounce, you also will be judged. And don't try to take the mote out of your brother's eye until you've taken the log out of your own eye!

The fact is, we really are all sinners and every time we judge others we are often guilty of the same sin, or even worse! So every time we gossip, we should realize that we just might be talking about ourselves!

Gossiping is bad anyway religious or not.

It causes hurt to others and can ruin lives.

Not only that but if guys do it it's a bitchy girly thing to do.

Think of harm you're doing and learn to keep the gob shut.

Drop relgion then you don't have to worry about it. I know it's sarcastic but seems religious people are always in someone eles business. Don't you have anything better to do. I read your other questions you have a lot of drama in your life especially with men. You have to watch some of these guys, that one sounds like j=he's possessive, dominating and controlling. and yes you do feel something about him you don't trust. That is telling you to disappear he's no good for you but do you listen.
