Who said they are refusing all trade? Trade agreements take a long time and a lot of negotiation. We trade w/S. Korea all the time.
 
You know that the US is committed to defending South Korea and China is committed to defend North Korea. Neither guarantor wants a war, but that is what could happen.
 
We are already there, have been there for a very long time practicing for this exact thing.
