Your clutch is definitely gone and there is a good chance that your tranny is trashed also.

When you say it barely goes at all in first gear-do you mean it barely goes IN TO first gear, or barely moves in first?

When was the last time you adjusted the clutch cable? Chances are the problem is there. If not then take the side cover off and pull the clutch apart. You might be correct, about the clutch, but more times than not it is a simple adjustment is all that is needed.
